Community Guidelines
The Motif community exists for practical career support, safe opportunity sharing, CV advice, networking, and encouragement.
Be Helpful and Respectful
Post career advice, CV feedback, interview tips, workplace questions, job-search experiences, and genuine local opportunities. Treat other members with dignity and patience.
Do not harass, threaten, shame, discriminate, impersonate, or pressure anyone. Do not post sexual content, hate speech, violent content, or content designed to humiliate another person.
Jobs and Opportunities
Only share opportunities you believe are genuine. If you post a job lead, include enough context for people to evaluate it safely, such as company name, location, official application channel, and closing date where available.
Never ask members to pay for a job, an interview, a placement, a guaranteed CV result, a background check, or a shortcut to employment. The Motif does not guarantee any job, employer, recruiter, user, or opportunity shared by members.
Privacy and Contact Safety
Do not post ID numbers, banking details, passwords, full addresses, payslips, certificates with ID numbers, or sensitive personal documents in public posts or replies.
Use Motif messages before sharing personal contact details. Public email addresses and South African phone numbers are masked where possible, but members remain responsible for what they choose to share.
Verification
A verified badge means the account has been reviewed by The Motif. It does not guarantee employment authority, payment safety, or that every opportunity shared by the member is legitimate.
Reporting
Report suspicious posts, replies, profiles, messages, or network activity using the report buttons. You can also email support@themotif.co.za.
The Motif may hide content, restrict users, revoke verification, or remove accounts when community safety requires it.
